Thompson Toro Toro Churchill 7x50 Toro Dominican $1.45
Construction: Attractive, smooth Maduro wrapper, perfect crown, and mild leathery aroma under the nose. Wrapped perfectly. 5
Lighting: Cut perfectly and stayed wrapped nicely through the entire smoke. Lit well, but burned too rapidly on one side. However, it evened out after about two inches of burn, so I didn’t have to burn any wrapper/binder away. Developed a 1 ¾ inch, grey white ash- very attractive against the maduro wrapper. The cigar had a perfect draw throughout the smoke. 4
Flavor: Started with a mildly sweet coffee flavor which grew to added leather hints as it burned down. This was very nice, but somewhat interrupted by an herbal flavor that detracted from the overall flavor. 4
Comments: This was a very good cigar that I enjoyed and would buy more of. I was considering a 90 for it, but the herbal qualities kept getting in the way. However, at a price of a buck-45 a stick (and you can get them for almost ONE buck in quantities of 75) this is a great value cigar.
